Fall Harvest Sangria

This Fall Harvest Sangria is the perfect holiday cocktail filled with crisp apples, pears, cranberries, cinnamon sticks and fresh apple cider!

Okay so who LOVES sangria?!

Raises hand.  Yes this is seriously my all-time favorite party cocktail because you can easily make it ahead of time (I mean sangria is supposed to be made ahead of time which already makes it a winner!), it always looks so pretty tossed together in a big pitcher and the longer it sits the better it tastes!  The perfect trifecta for party cocktails if you ask me.  I’m really excited to share this fall harvest sangria, it’s literally the perfect addition to all of your holiday parties this season and I promise you your friends will thank you!

And/or beg you for the recipe.

Feel free to use your favorite bottle of white wine or any dry, crisp wine.  For this recipe I used Pinot Grigio, but you could also use Sauvignon Blanc or even a dry Riesling if you like your drinks a bit sweeter.  I also love to add a bottle of sparkling wine sometimes (because why not?!), which you could totally mix in with this sangria, but I just used a little club soda instead to keep things bit lighter.  Just make to sure to add the club soda right before serving – this keeps it nice and fizzy!

I am in love with the combination of crisp apples, pears, oranges and cinnamon sticks all mixed together with my favorite white wine, fresh apple cider and (shhh) a little vodka.  Hehe.  But you know what I love more than all that fresh fruit??  Well fresh fruit soaked in BOOZE of course!  I also topped mine off with some pomegranate seeds, but you could also use cranberries – I mean they’re just so pretty and add the perfect touch of tartness.

But mostly because they’re so pretty.

You can totally have fun with this recipe too!  Add a little cinnamon and sugar to the rim of each wine glass before serving and throw in an extra cinnamon stick to look like a cute straw.  Oh and if you like your sangria a bit sweeter, mix a little honey or agave in – everyone has different tastes!

Thanksgiving with my family is always a day long event filled with delicious appetizers, cocktails, fun games, football and, of course, an amazing turkey dinner!  This sangria would make the perfect addition to our holiday festivities and I’m pretty certain would make all of our games a lot more fun… *wink*

Let me just say this would also make a super festive Christmas sangria as well!  Just add a few sprigs of fresh rosemary and extra cranberries for a gorgeous cocktail your family and friends will love!  Um I guarantee they’ll be asking you for this recipe by the end of the night.  Trust me on this.

So whether you’re cozying up by the fire, throwing a holiday party or even having people over for a Sunday football game, this is definitely the perfect fall cocktail for you!  Just a quick note, if you decide to put this in a big drink dispenser rather than a pitcher, I would suggest leaving out the pomegranate seeds as they tend to get stuck in the nozzle of the dispenser.  Just add them to each individual drink after they’re poured or throw in cranberries instead!

Also you may have noticed that Eat Yourself Skinny has changed it’s domain name!  It’s officially eatyourselfskinny.com (without annoying hyphens) which is what I have wanted for 6 years now!  You can still go to eat-yourself-skinny.com and will automatically be directed to the new domain name, but I wanted to let you all know about the change in case you were curious about it.  This makes it SO much easier to search online and just looks much more cleaner!  YAY!

Hope everyone enjoys this recipe this holiday season and don’t forget to tag me on Instagram or Twitter if you decide to make this or any other recipes from Eat Yourself Skinny!  I LOVE seeing all your photos!  Just use the hashtag #eatyourselfskinnyrecipe.  Cheers!
